Movianto's ESG Commitment Earns Gold: France, Spain, and Slovakia Lead the Way

Movianto's Data-Driven Approach and Commitment to Sustainability Rewarded with Top EcoVadis Honors

Movianto is moving forward in its corporate social responsibility strategy: recently, Movianto France, Movianto Spain, and Movianto Slovakia have been awarded an EcoVadis gold medal. This accolade is a testament to the French and Slovakian organisation’s long-standing commitment to a holistic ESG strategy, which has now been recognized and rewarded.

Movianto takes an EcoVadis Gold medal seriously for many reasons. “Firstly, our customers ask us for this type of certification in order to assess our level of maturity and commitment in these areas,” says Patrice Lepiller, Director of Safety and Environment in Movianto France. “Secondly, EcoVadis has also become a market standard, enabling us to see where we stand in relation to the market and, more generally, in relation to other companies that, like us, already have an advanced approach. Finally, it’s important for our employees and partners to see that we take care to work and grow with strong commitments to the environment, but also to the well-being of our employees.”

The transition from a silver to a gold medal demonstrates significant progress, achieved through refined data collection and detailed ESG initiatives. Silver medals mean EcoVadis considers your company to be in the top 15% percent of its industry – a gold medal means top 5%.

Movianto’s progress from silver to gold was driven by improved data accuracy and a comprehensive description of ESG initiatives. “It was the progress and scalability that were rewarded,” adds Lepiller. “For example, we have refined our data collection, moving from data using financial indicators to data derived from physical indicators, which is much more accurate and allows us to work with more granular data. Globally, this data approach is applied to all the Group’s entities.”

Movianto has also made significant strides across countries in calculating its carbon footprint with the help of Greenly, an external partner, and has been committed to the UN Global Compact for several years.

Most Movianto entities have achieved a silver rating, the minimum required by management at the Walden Group. If any entity receives a bronze medal on their first assessment, they are expected to address performance discrepancies and resubmit for assessment as soon as possible, according to company policy.

Looking ahead, Movianto aims to further improve its ratings across countries and continue its journey towards a more sustainable future. The company is working on its net-zero trajectory, aiming for certification by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Additionally, Movianto is preparing for the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which will further enhance its business model and operating methods.
