For the Centre of Excellence, new tools and processes for handling the most demanding biotechnology-based healthcare products have been developed.

New capabilities and environmental compliance
The new warehouse has temperature-controlled storage capacity for 5,700 pallets at +2/+8°C and 34,400 pallets at +15/+25°C, as well as 2,000 m² of office space. Certified BREEAM ‘Very Good’, the building meets the highest construction standards in terms of environmental impact and energy efficiency. In particular, the site’s cold room uses CO² as a cooling liquid, eliminating all other gases that are much more harmful to the environment.
Operational excellence and employee commitment
Movianto France is implementing processes tailored to high-value products at this site, as well as a new empowering organisational model that promotes employee engagement. Establishing a training, quality and maintenance representative in each team, the aim of this new organisational model is to give employees greater autonomy in managing day-to-day operations, and to empower them to develop resources, tools and processes. This will improve quality, productivity, and job satisfaction, while freeing up managers to work on fundamental issues in collaboration with customers.
A stronger partnership based on excellence
One of the first clients moving into the new site is Astellas. As part of this transformation, Movianto has strengthened its partnership with Astellas, a global life sciences company dedicated to developing innovative products. Thierry Maillard, Customer Operations Area Lead at Astellas France, explains: ‘In 2023, we launched a tender to select our logistics partner to guarantee a supply chain of excellence for our customers. Movianto won the tender, strengthening its role as a partner of excellence after more than 10 years of collaboration with Astellas.’
To meet Astellas’ needs, Movianto has integrated the manufacturer into its new platform in Moussy-le-Neuf. The new quality and operational processes will enable Astellas to achieve its product distribution objectives. Astellas is the first manufacturer to move into this new site and will be followed by other customers and prospects specialising in biotech and high-value products.
