Healthcare logistics: Movianto and Bracco extend their collaboration to Norway

•  The order-to-cash service for the leader in diagnostic imaging includes a multi-currency solution and customs clearance

•  Proven international business cases adopted in less than two months

(Køge/Denmark, Milan/Italy) Movianto, Europe’s leading service provider specialising in pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics, and Bracco, the world’s leading diagnostic imaging company, are expanding their collaboration.

Since 2011, Movianto has been ensuring the storage and distribution of the Italian family-owned company’s sensitive contrast media throughout Denmark. As of November 2024, Movianto will extend the distribution of Bracco products to Norway, as Bracco has won a hospital tender. “Based on the experience of our long-standing fruitful cooperation, we deliberately opted for Movianto’s logistics services, including order-to-cash in the Norwegian market,” says Staffan Rosén, managing director of Bracco Imaging Scandinavia. “By choosing a central warehouse for the different markets, we are able to benefit from the consolidation effects we achieve through Movianto.”

In addition to storage, shipping and distribution, Movianto’s specialised customer service team takes orders from Bracco customers and provides the necessary customs clearance, as Norway is not a member of the EU.

“In addition, we have a multi-currency solution, as we invoice in local currency to Norwegians and other Nordic countries,” says Marina Steensen, managing director of Movianto Nordic. “As we had already worked with Bracco in Denmark and had proven business cases in Norway with other customers, we used our experience and were able to provide a viable solution to expand Bracco’s business in Norway in less than two months.”

For the transport part in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) Movianto cooperates with BHS Logistics, a member of the Skandi Transport network. This alliance represents the first international GDP-compliant temperature-controlled distribution network for life science products. It covers more than 25 countries. Movianto UK and other sister companies of the Walden Group play a central role in the alliance, which ensures the distribution of temperature-sensitive products in active temperature controlled environments, such as 2-8° C, 15-25° C or even -25° C.

Bracco products for Denmark and Norway are stored centrally in the Movianto Nordic warehouse in Køge
