As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance and upgrade our services, Movianto UK made a strategic decision to invest in a new warehouse in Bedford. This decision stemmed from our continuous evaluation of our network to improve efficiency and meet client needs. After extensive client consultations, market studies, and future planning, the new facility was developed to address these insights and requirements. This investment reflects our commitment to staying ahead in the rapidly evolving healthcare logistics landscape.
Growth and Expansion 
Over the past five years, Movianto UK has experienced significant growth, necessitating an upgrade from our previous facility. The new Bedford warehouse has increased our ambient pallet spaces from 45,000 to 80,000 and incorporated advanced automated solutions. This expansion enables us to extend our reach, providing services for more patients across the country.
Enhanced Services
The increased capacity and technological advancements at the Bedford facility have also allowed Movianto UK to set up robust added-value services. These include hospital prescription services, GMP rework services such as repackaging and relabelling, a brand new Medical Technology offering, and a controlled drugs vault with government-required security measures, which is the largest in Europe. These enhancements significantly bolster our ability to meet diverse client needs and uphold the highest standards of service.
Sustainability at the Core
Movianto is dedicated to sustainable practices and the new Bedford facility exemplifies this commitment. Some of the sustainability features of the new warehouse include:
- Low Energy Demand Construction: The facility is built according to principles that minimise energy consumption.
- Solar Panel Energy Production: The roof is on its way to being fitted with over 500 solar panels, contributing to our renewable energy initiatives.
- High Performance Insulation and Glazing: These features reduce heat loss, enhancing energy efficiency.
- Electric Car Charging Points and Bike Storage: We encourage sustainable commuting options for our team, including the use of the local Sustrans Cycle route.
- BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Rating: Our efforts are externally recognised.
