Occlutech's Challenges
Occlutech, as a producer of medical devices, has distinct requirements and product use cases. Customers purchase Occlutech’s products to perform surgeries, but since each patient is unique, the specific items needed in a surgical kit can vary based on the patient’s condition.
“We were really looking for someone that understood what we did and how we work. We needed someone who could keep up with us. It was when we came down to meet with the Movianto UK team who showed us the Med Tech Facility and the tools being developed to support medical device manufacturers, we knew it would be a good move.”
“A critical requirement we had was the ability to self-manage our inventory: instantaneously see what we have, where it is and then make new orders. Our products are expensive and so we can’t have them go out of date. Often kits are returned with unused items still in them, so replenishments look different every time. All these factors can make it complex at times.”
“Another big requirement is traceability. It is vital to us for service and legal reasons. We work with very important products and so if any auditor comes to make sure we can do our job properly, and asks us where products are, we need to be able to show them. Otherwise, we could lose our certificate to sell.”
